Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Cancelled For Wii U

Batman: Arkham Origins will no longer be getting story DLC on Wii U, Warner Bros. has confirmed.

The publisher explained in a statement to IGN that the decision was made as demand for DLC on the console apparently isn't strong enough.

"Based on demand for DLC content on the system, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to remove its offering of the upcoming all-new story campaign for Wii U," it reads.

Anyone who has a Season Pass for content on the console will apparently be given a refund. A tease posted on Facebook at the start of the year suggests the story DLC will focus on Mr. Freeze.

Back to the Future Becoming West End Musical

Back to the Future is set to hit the West End stage, when a musical adaptation of the 1980s classic debuts in London next year.

Robert Zemeckis, who co-wrote and directed the 1985 film starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd, will again team up with co-writer Bob Gale to write the book for the stage version. Jamie Lloyd, who directed James McAvoy last year in a very successful production of Macbeth, will also help write the script and take on directing duties.

Composing will be handled by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. Silvestri worked with Zemeckis on a number of other films including Romancing the Stone, Forrest Gump and Cast Away, while Ballard is a six-time Grammy winner whose previous theatre credits include Ghost: The Musical and who also co-wrote and produced Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill.

Back to the Future was released in 1985, and follows Marty Mcfly (Fox) as he travels back to his home town in 1955, and has to watch his parents' relationship unfold before him. The musical will be released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film, and a Broadway transfer is possible if the British version does well.

Lucario Revealed for Super Smash Bros. Wii U / 3DS

The roster of fighters for the upcoming Smash Bros. title on Wii U and 3DS just got its 22nd addition, in the form of the Pokemon Lucario.

Creator Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the team has "increased the influence of Aura this time, so a damaged Lucario is truly a force to be reckoned with."

Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS was first announced at E3 2011. There's still no word on a release date, other than that it's coming in 2014. On the plus side, we discovered a few weeks ago that the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game will boast different trophies, so if you choose to pick up both you'll be able to enjoy some variety. Edge-guarding has also received a much-welcomed revamp.

Constantine Pilot Lands Descent Director Neil Marshall

It was announced earlier this month that NBC had ordered a pilot for Constantine -- DC's newest live-action television venture following The CW's Arrow and upcoming Flash and FOX's Gotham series.

Deadline is now reporting that the network has tapped Neil Marshall, director of the 2005 British horror film The Descent, to helm the pilot.

Constantine won't be Marshall's first involvement with a TV show. He recently directed the third episode for Michael Bay's Black Sails pirate drama, as well as an episode from the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.

Constantine follows titular con-artist John Constantine as he is forced into the role of supernatural detective, protecting humanity from the forces of both hell and heaven.

Brian Singer and Simon Kinberg Discuss Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse

You’ve seen all 25 magazine cover character reveals, and you’ve seen the latest official screenshots. Now you can hear about X-Men: Days of Future Past straight from the mouths of director Bryan Singer and writer Simon Kinberg. The two also opened up about their next X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse, which is based on the Age of Apocalypse storyline from the comics.

The interview appears in the new issue of Empire, but Coming Soon has posted some of the Q&A. A few questions kind of answer themselves. (Was anyone really confused about future Wolverine having metal claws? Like there isn’t a main character who possesses atomic-level control of all metal?) Then there are questions about the future of the franchise, including the introduction of the ancient mutant known as Apocalypse, who will be the main villain in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

Said Singer, “What would people thousands of years ago, without the benefit of science, think mutants were? And more importantly, what would mutants thousands of years ago think they were? Gods? Titans? Angels? Demons? And if such mutants did exist thousands of years ago, what became of them? Did one survive?"

Singer notes that X-Men: Apocalypse will be more of a sequel to 2011’s X-Men: First Class, though the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, which opens on May 23, lead into Apocalypse.  Though it’s impossible to be sure, it sounds like the old guard cast -- Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry and company -- are out of the picture for good.

In the interview Singer takes time to quash a rumor (again) that is so insane I can’t believe it's still kicking around. In case you were worried, rest easy: Magneto will NOT be taken over by an alien intelligence and somehow become Apocalypse. Crisis averted!

Empire’s print edition also contains some new screenshots from DoFP. One of those images merits special attention. It features Evan Peters’ Quicksilver on the left looking a little nonplussed. But who in the name of Stan Lee is that little kid sitting on his lap? Is it possible, however unlikely, that we’re looking at Scarlet Witch, a/k/a Wanda Maximoff?

As we know from the comics, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are brother and sister, which certainly fits with the image above. The only flaw in that theory would be their age; in the comics the two are twins, fathered by none other than Magneto. If Scarlet Witch is indeed depicted as a child in the Fox-backed DoFP, it would be a huge departure from the Elizabeth Olsen version of the character that will appear in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.
