App Store Update: February 27

Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention. For more mobile game trailers, reviews and news be sure to Subscribe to IGNMobileGames on YouTube.

Note: The prices and deals compiled below are accurate at the time we published this story, but all are subject to change.

Game Debuts

Disco Zoo – (Freemium)

The creators of Tiny Tower and Pocket Trains are back in action once again, this time with Disco Zoo – expand the array of animals on display, then throw crazy disco parties to get the place jumpin'!

Out There – ($3.99)

Explore outer space in this new sim that has some similarities to FTL:

Demonrock: War of Ages – ($0.99)

The App Store's got plenty of tower defense games, but Demonrock offers "reverse tower defense" – which I take to mean that your party of warriors will be the ones attacking the towers, instead of locked behind their walls repelling foes.

God of Light – ($1.99)

A unique, gorgeous new light puzzler. Give this trailer a quick look:

The Voyage – ($0.99)

From the makers of The Curse, The Voyage is a new puzzle-packed adventure, this time with a pirate theme.

Cubed Snowboarding – ($0.99)

It's retro-ish, but kind of not – it's 3D snowboarding down a tricky, curving track with a blockheaded boarder:

Cultures Northland – ($5.99)

The App Store's latest society-building sim takes Viking culture as its inspiration.

Avadon 2: The Corruption HD – ($9.99)

The Avadon series continues with more old-school isometric RPG action:

Beyond Space – ($2.99)

3D dogfighting action in outer space:

Snip and Chu: The Game – ($0.99)

And rounding out today's list, a new game paying homage to Nintendo's old Game & Watch LCD games.

That’s it for today! Email subscriptions to the App Store Update are still just one sign-up away, right here:

Lucas M. Thomas has been compiling IGN's App Store Updates since 2012 (and he even has an app of his own). He's also running a Kickstarter right now! You can follow him on Twitter, @lucasmthomas.
