Twitch Broadcasting Headed to Xbox One Alongside Titanfall

The ability to Twitch broadcast on Xbox One will be available from March 11, Microsoft has confirmed.

The company has revealed that the plan is for the service to launch alongside Titanfall when it releases in North America.

Twitch CEO Emmett Shear told the associated press that players will also have the option to join the broadcaster's party mid-stream; something that is lacking from the PS4 version of the service.

Sony's PS4 has offered livestreaming via both Twitch and Ustream since launch and, despite initial reservations that console gamers wouldn't embrace the services, it appears the demand is definitely there. A recent announcement by Sony revealed that 1.7 million gameplay broadcasts have been streamed so far across the services, accounting for more than 55 million total minutes broadcast. Twitch has also gone on record to say that 20 percent of its users are streaming via PS4.

Though Xbox Live Gold Members have been able to watch all content on Twitch since the console launched back on November 22, it's good to know the wait to get involved hasn't been in vain. Whether the ability to join broadcaster parties will make its way to PS4 isn't clear at this time.

Though it was originally planned to launch in early 2014, comments at the start of the year from Twitch suggested there could still be a way to go before the ability to broadcast via the service on Xbox One was available. Thankfully, it appears the wait is almost over.
