Just under a year since the launch model first started shipping to Kickstarter backers, Ouya is introducing a new 16GB version of the Android-based games console. Preserving the same design and core features of the original, the new high-capacity variant doubles the storage from 8GB, affording more space for games, apps, and media. The company had previously offered a 16GB version of the system as part of a limited edition white variant for the holidays.
However, prospective owners will have to pay for the privilege, with the 16GB model priced at $129.99 — $30 more than the base model. While the expanded internal memory is certainly convenient, the system's existing USB storage port already provides extensive upgradability.
The 16GB Ouya is on sale at the company's official website, Amazon, and more.
