This morning it was announced that Jesse Eisenberg will portray Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons will play Alfred Pennyworth in the Man of Steel sequel. While the casting choice of Jeremy made sense to most, there were mixed reactions about Jesse Eisenberg.
We asked IGN readers their thoughts on this interesting piece of casting news.
Some would say Jesse Eisenberg has already played an evil villain when he portrayed Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network.

Lex Luthor is an arrogant genius. He plays mind games with Superman and can stand toe to toe with him because of his brain. Going back to The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg has showed he can be an arrogant genius while captivating audiences.
@IGN I like what they're doing. Lex Luthor doesn't need to be buff and intimidating. It's his brain that fights Superman, not his fists.

Just like when it was announced Ben Affleck would play Batman, some people felt the production team behind the film are "losing their mind."

Some feel Jesse isn't old enough to play a powerful business man like Lex Luthor.
@IGN What the hell. He's so young though, especially when compared to Superman and Batman. I was expecting an older, tougher-looking Lex.
