At a briefing meeting in London yesterday, PlayStation UK Managing Director Fergal Gara announced the ratio of PS4 to Xbox One sales in the UK currently sits at 1.5:1.
According to Gamespot, Gara was particularly delighted to report the figure after revealing that the ratio was reversed for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and admitting to a pressure to recapture the market.
Sony's UK market share of home and handheld consoles has grown from 23 percent to 40 percent over the last two years, said Gara. He also reminded the audience that the PlayStation 4 was the fastest selling console in UK history.
Sony's biggest reveal at the meeting was the availability of the PS Vita Slim in the UK on February 7, 2014. We got our mitts on the thinner handheld; check out our unboxing video here.
