Resident Evil: Revelations Sells 1.1 Million Units on PC/Consoles

Capcom has announced the PC and console ports of Resident Evil Revelations have collectively sold 1.1 million copies.

The news was announced on the Capcom Unity blog, and reveals that the port of the 3DS game has performed rather well.

"Just a quick little pat on the back for RE Revelations," it reads, "the console/PC versons have passed the one-million mark in worldwide sales and are currently sitting pretty at 1.1 million overall.

"The 3DS version was great, but I'm still quite pleased Revelations could make the leap to 360, PS3, Wii U and PC as well. It's a great, claustrophobic game that really walks the line between '90s and '00s RE.

"Revs joins Dead Rising 3 as a 2013 million-seller, plus we have word that DuckTales Remastered also performed admirably."

Last week as part of its financial results, Capcom explained that Resident Evil Revelations had performed well, though stopped short of announcing an actual sales figure.

Seeing as Capcom was targeting sales of 1.2 million for the title, it's encouraging to see Revelations is almost there, especially given Lost Planet 3's poor sales. Last year the company revealed the lifetime sales of many of its titles, crowning Resident Evil 5 as its most successful game, even more so than Street Fighter II. Seeing as ideas for Resident Evil 7 have already been discussed, hopefully it won't be too long before we see the next game in the franchise.
