The latest Flappy Bird clone, Flappy Bert, comes from Sesame Workshop, the organization behind Sesame Street.
This rendition of the game features colorful striped pipes, Sesame Street in the background, and instead of having a lonely bird travel across the screen, Bert is carried through the game by a little blue bird. Collision with a pipe results in Bert crying out "Ernie," the name of Bert's best friend on Sesame Street.
Flappy Bert is just one of the many Flappy Bird clones, and there are even more to come. Indie developers are coming together for Flappy Jam, a game jam created to show support for Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen through their own Flappy Bird renditions. Additionally, Fall Out Boy has announced plans to release their own Flappy Bird game, Fall Out Bird.
The original Flappy Bird was pulled from both the iOS App Store and Google Play store on February 9. Nguyen later explained that he removed the game because it was an "addictive product" and said he has no plans to re-release the game.
