Seth Gordon in Negotiations to Direct Uncharted Movie

The director of The King of Kong is poised to jump back into the world of video games in a big way.

Deadline reports that Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) is in negotiations to direct the long-gestating Uncharted movie for Sony Pictures Entertainment. The script was penned by David Guggenheim (Safe House, Bad Boys 3). Uncharted will be produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.

If the deal is sealed, Gordon would helm the big screen version of the Drake's Fortune video game for PlayStation, a project that's seen directors David O. Russell (American Hustle) and Neil Burger (Divergent) previously attached to it.

The next step, Deadline claims, is the search for an actor to play Nathan Drake. Before you inevitably scream "Oh, great, I guess Jason Bateman's going to play Drake!" bear in mind that Seth Gordon's also worked with Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Bret Harrison, and that Nathan Drake dead ringer, Jeff Garlin.
