Abbey Games, the developer behind last year's god game Reus, has announced that its second game is in development.
Renowned Explorers - International Society is a turn-based, treasure-hunting game. You'll first assemble a team of explorers with varying skillsets, and then lead them around the world in search of treasure. Any foes encountered during your travels can be met with combat, conversation, or "an interesting mix of the two." (Hmm. Is this the return of Insult Swordfighting?)
"While Abbey Games will still support Reus, we knew it was time for something new," the Dutch developer said in a statement on the Renowned Explorers website.
Development on Renowned Explorers has just begun, so there's no word of a possible release window yet - but we do know that the title is currently planned for PC.
Reus was an original take on the god-game genre. In our review, we thought it was stylish and clever, but it was let down by its fiddliness, unintuitive systems, and small worlds.
