Okay, we're all adults here, but let's get real for a moment -- pretend sparring is rad! Whether it's NERF swords or retractable lightsabers, there's something just plain awesome about sword fighting with a friend. The only downside, of course, is there's no real way to keep score -- at least not without some degrading back-and-forth like, "Nuh uh!" and "Uh huh!"
Well, LevelUp Inc. has come with a solution to that age-old problem in the form of Sabertron, a wireless multiplayer foam sword fighting game.
"For the first time ever," LevelUp describes, "you will be able to have a foam sword fight and let the swords keep score electronically, without any additional equipment." Basically, sword-to-sword hits don't register, but contact-hits anywhere else remove points from an opponent's health meter -- similar to professional fencing setups. See for yourself:
Pretty cool, no? Sabertron also comes in "Lightsaber" and "Medieval" versions -- perfect for any would-be Jedi Knights or paladins. Additionally, the system offers five different multiplayer modes, with even more accessories and developments already in the works. Right now, Sabertron is only a Kickstarter, but you can help LevelUp reach their goal by lending your support. The campaign runs until February 28 and hopes to raise $195,000. Check out their official Kickstarter page for more info.
