Following the cancellation of Sean Saves the World last week, NBC has given the axe to another one of its Thursday night comedies, The Michael J. Fox Show.
According The Wrap, Jane Lynch's Hollywood Game Night will air in place of the freshman series, which starred Michael J. Fox and Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt. Production on all 22 episodes of Season 1 have been completed, with 15 episodes already aired. Right now, it's uncertain if those last seven episodes will air.
Both The Michael J. Fox Show and Sean Saves the World suffered extremely low ratings and never picked up steam. Meanwhile, NBC's Community and Parks and Recreation have fared slightly better, enough for the latter to get renewed for Season 7. (A sixth season of Community is also looking good, according to NBC's chairman Robert Greenblatt.)
Despite the cancellation of The Michael J. Fox Show, NBC hasn't quite given up on reviving TV stars from their past; the network recently ordered a new comedy series starring Bill Cosby.
