Get ready for more brick-building mayhem! With The LEGO Movie earning over $200 million at the worldwide box office, Warner Bros. has set the planned sequel to open on May 26, 2017.
The LEGO Movie 2 is the first film to be scheduled for that date, according to Variety. As previously reported, the studio has already tapped Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan to pen the script. Meanwhile, The LEGO Movie producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee are also expected to return for the sequel.
What this release date means for Warners' other LEGO title Ninjago remains to be seen. Earlier this week, we learned that the studio was lining up release dates for both movies, so it stands to reason that a Ninjago release date will also be coming soon.
