Titanfall Beta Registration Now Open

Update: EA has announced the beta will kick off February 14, as suspected. Our original story is below.

The wait is over, everybody - registration for the closed Titanfall beta on Xbox One and PC is now open at Titanfall.com.

Like the alpha before it, you won't need a pre-order of the game to be accepted - just head to the official site to register for an access code. Keep in mind that if you want to play on PC, you'll need an EA Origin Account.

Only a limited number of users will be selected for the beta, described in the site's official FAQ as a "small slice of gameplay" from the final game. According to the  FAQ, sign ups will be open until the 14th of February at 4PM PST, with confirmation of acceptance emails sent out no later than 11:59 PM PST on Feb 17th.

Last week, a leak from a French retailer suggested the starting date of the beta was February 14th; we'll keep you updated on this as we hear more.

EA has no plans to launch an Xbox 360 beta at this time.

This highly anticipated beta will hopefully answer some of the questions fans have been mulling over since the game was announced.  Many have had their clicking fingers at the ready since Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella announced that registration would open today, but according to the official Titanfall Twitter feed it's not a case of first come, first served - everyone who applies before the 14th will have a chance at getting in.

Titanfall is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on March 11 in North America, March 13 in Australia, and March 14 in the UK.
