Some days, you just can't get rid of a sharknado.
Sharknado 2: The Second One, the aptly named sequel to the Syfy TV movie that took the States and Twitter by shark-filled storm, is set to hit the small screen sometime this July. With the air date drawing nearer, we now have some casting news thanks to Deadline.
The Second One will see two survivors of the original sharknado, Fin (Ian Zierling) and April (Tara Reid), heading to New York, where another freak outbreak of sharknadoes will force the "experts" to once again save the day. Probably with more chainsaws.
This time, the good samaritan and his hilariously vapid ex-wife will be joined by a number of new faces ripe for the chomping. Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill) will play Fin's old high school friend Skye -- smart money says she'll probably also compete with April for Fin's attention. Mark McGrath (Scooby-Doo) will play Fin's brother-in-law. Kelly Osbourne (Are We There Yet?) and Judd Hirsch (Taxi) will portray a flight attendant and a cab driver, respectively. Judah Friedlander (30 Rock) is Brian. Just Brian. And last, but certainly not least, Andy-freaking-Dick (Hoodwinked!) will play a police officer.
In case you missed the first Sharknado, don't. Stop it. It's on Netflix. Go watch it. There are chainsaws, old men running through the streets with battle stools, multiple sharknadoes, nitrous Hummers outfitted with deadly spikes and Oscar-worthy line delivery -- “They took my grandfather. So I really hate sharks.”
Do yourself a favor and go watch the first entry with a group of friends who love to laugh. If that doesn't get you excited for a sequel, then you're not a person with whom most people would care to associate.
