The LEGO Movie is Awesome at the Weekend Box Office

Warner Bros.' The LEGO Movie debuted atop the domestic box office this weekend with an estimated $69.1 million, surpassing the studio's Happy Feet as their biggest opening ever for an animated movie.

George Clooney's star-studded The Monuments Men bowed in second place with a solid $22.7 million, while fellow newcomer Vampire Academy sputtered in seventh place with a $4.1 million bow.

This weekend also saw Disney's Frozen pass the $900 million mark at the worldwide box office after opening in China. It also passed Despicable Me 2 on the list of all-time animated hits.
