Amazon Releases 10 New Original Pilots

Following last year's batch of series pilots, Amazon has just released 10 more that viewers can now watch for free using Amazon Prime Instant Video.

This latest collection of shows includes five children's pilots and five older-skewing, prime-time pilots, two of which are hour-long dramas. Same as last year, viewership will determine which pilots go to series. (In the case of 2013, Alpha House and Betas got full-season pickups.)

Below are the details on the 2014 prime-time pilots:

• The After: Written and directed by The X-Files creator Chris Carter, the series follows eight strangers who are thrown together by mysterious forces and must help each other survive in a violent world that defies explanation. The After stars Aldis Hodge (Leverage) and Andrew Howard (Limitless).

• Bosch: Based on Michael Connelly's best-selling book series, the drama features an LAPD homicide detective who's working to solve the murder of a 13-year-old boy, while also standing trial for the murder of a serial killer. Lost's Titus Welliver stars as Harry Bosch.

• Mozart in the Jungle: Created by Paul Weitz, Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Alex Timbers, this dramedy delves into the sex, drugs and drama behind the curtains of a professional symphony; based on the memoir by Blair Tindall. This one stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Malcolm McDowell, Saffron Burrows and Bernadette Peters.

• The Rebels: Written by Jeremy Garelick (The Break-Up) and Jon Weinbach (30 for 30), this comedy centers on Julie (Natalie Zea), a recent widow whose late husband leaves her the sole owner of The LA Rebels, a pro-football team.

• Transparent: Created by Jill Soloway (Six Feet Under, United States of Tara), this dark comedy features an LA family whose past and future unravel when a dramatic admission causes everyone's secrets to spill out. Jeffrey Tambor, Judith Light and Gaby Hoffman star.
